Dear Fellow Alabamians,
It has been an honor and a truly humbling experience to serve the people of Alabama as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and I look forward to continuing that service. I took an oath to uphold the state constitution and the Constitution of the United States of America and I take that oath very seriously.
In more than a decade on the bench, I earned a reputation of being tough, but fair. I earned that reputation while presiding over hundreds of criminal cases including murder, rape, and armed robbery and civil cases from fraud to medical malpractice. I approached each case with a passion for the law and an understanding that each decision I made must be made with only the law in mind. In order for justice to be served, every Alabamian with a matter before the courts must be secure that our courts will function fairly.
I hope that you will support me when you cast your ballot for Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court on March 13, 2012.
Sincerely,
